I have it fed into a raspberry pi with a screen, that calibrates from LEDs and then uses that to find peaks at different optical frequencies. This flyback generator is a super simple self stable high voltage oscillator. It’s switching a transformer near resonance and getting insanely high power out of it.
Spark gap tesla coil are definitely one of the scariest you can make. Not only are they super illegal, but they’re also very dangerous and violent. I made 3, and they’re soooooo cool. They also absolutely rust the heck out of the spark gaps on account of the excessive amounts of ozone generation. I have them powered from various size flyback generators. Since its a pulsed power source, the resonance calculations are not as important meaning its not too difficult to scrap one together without a ton of analysis.
This uses radioactive decay to trigger a geiger muller tube, which converts the timing of this to a a random number. This is a truly random number since radioactive decay is inherently nondeterministic which means it breaks the laws of classical physics.
I got the inspiration for this project from Joel Creates. It was too funny of an idea to not try out, and i was looking for things to do with my atomizer! My family doesnt really eat toast so i went to friends house to try it out, and it kind of works…? It just tastes like toast that you’ve left out, sort of like slightly soggier bread ends.
